22 weeks in and time is flying by

It is hard to believe I am 22 weeks into this pregnancy!  We know now that BOTH the babies are BOYS!  The Husband keeps going on about how the house will be full of boys and I will be out numbered (yes he is counting the dog in that one). I keep being told that boys love their mommies so at least I have that going for me!

Oh Yeah- I feel like there is some sort of gymnastic floor competition going on inside me now!  There babies sure do move A LOT!

We have been trying to get our registries finished and in order because our first shower is a week away- Ahhhhhh!  I just have to say I have to love my family (My side and his) because they are all helping us out and putting together showers for us.  I have to give my Mom some love and props because essentially she is putting 2 of them together for me (one is a celebration and the other she is helping my Aunt out who live in Portland, OR and is having my Baltimore one for me).  I also have to give my mother credit because she HAND MADE me 125 thank you notes and they are soooooo cute!

Yesterday we drove about 40 minutes away to another baby store to pick out a glider.  We have a Babies R Us here up the street but it just turned into a combined Babies R Us/Toys R Us so the baby part isn't as big- we we drove to just a Babies R Us.  Well while there I happened to run into 2 other woman who have twins that are under a year old.  Well they started talking and I started listening to their advice and stories!  Needless to say I got a little scared!

The one thing they both were going on about was sleeping and how they do it.  The one couple sleeps in different rooms of the house each taking one baby so neither have to handle both babies in the night.  The other couple does shifts.  One person sleeps in the bedroom till about around 2 am and then gets up and goes downstairs and takes over while the other one gets to go sleep upstairs.  Oh boy!

Things are really going to start sinking in and feeling real soon because not only of the showers but we will be going to get the cribs, and getting the nursery painted, etc.

Oh if you want to help me out because you have twins or have experience with a baby- check out my registries and let me know if I am missing anything or have stuff I don't need on there:

Local students get a sushi lesson with RA Sushi

Last week RA Sushi came to visit Garrett Heights Elementary Middle School to do a sushi lesson with a class that had been working on a unit about exploring Asian cultures both past and present. Between the classroom teacher and the resource teachers (myself included – library media) they put together arts integration unit.

The students got to sit down and learn from Sushi Chef Andy of RA Sushi about the history behind sushi and some of the basics behind making California Roll and how to make a Candy Roll. From there the students learned how to use chopsticks so they could serve themselves some sushi.
The Candy Rolls where a bit of a shocker for the students. They couldn’t believe putting together fruit roll ups, rice krispy treats, gummy worms among other items and then topping it with chocolate sauce and whip cream. Now before you turn your nose up and knock it- you have to try it. It is surprisingly yummy!

The students loved the sushi and couldn’t get enough- of both sushi rolls! Many of the students had never had sushi before and where always afraid to try it- now they can't wait to have more!

Help me support the 2011 March for the Animals

I will be supporting (can't walk this year since I am in my 3rd trimester) the March for the Animals on April 17. Would you please consider making a gift to support the Maryland SPCA?  As a local, private non-profit shelter, the Maryland SPCA receives no government funding or money from national animal welfare organizations.  On behalf of the nearly 3,000 lost and homeless animals that are placed into homes by the Maryland SPCA each year, I thank you!

All donations go directly to provide care, shelter, food, spay/neuter and medication to the animals in our adoption center.

Help me support the 2011 March for the Animals by making a donation!

You can join our team and help us support The Maryland SPCA! Together we can help the animals of Baltimore and Maryland!

I can't see my feet anymore...

Yes that is right- I can't see my feet anymore unless I bend forward.  Which I find myself bending backwards to help with my new center of gravity.

Yesterday we spent the day on a mission to go see about getting our hands on something baby items for twins that we haven't been able to check out except online.  We drove about an hour away to Gaithersburg to a HUGE baby store called Great Beginnings.  While here we got to actually test out the stroller we have been looking at online, plus found a second one we like too.  We also got to take a look in person at the Pack 'n Play for twins we saw online.

Now one things we are still stuck on what to get it infant seats, car seats and monitor.  Now both strollers only take certain infant seats t=so that makes a difference.  We want a monitor system that will work on all 3 floors of the house and has 2 different parts that you take so you can listen.
